Finance & Accounting Administrator

International non-profit organization 3-month opportunity About Our Client: Our client is a non-profit organization located in Geneva. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Finance Controller is responsible for ensuring the integrity of our accounting system and the quality of internal controls across the whole organization, as well as overseeing the external audits (organizational and grant audits) and country office transactions.

Review journals, bank statements, and other reconciliations to ensure compliance with applicable standards

Ensure internal control procedures are implemented and documented by all staff

Maintain and update the internal control matrix to guarantee consistent controls across all staff, including during remote work

Prepare year-end financial statements in accordance to Swiss GAAP, including notes to the accounts

Act as liaison with auditors and ensure availability and quality of documentation ahead of organizational and grant audits

Serve as point of contact for financial matters related to EU grants and ensure donor compliance for all consortium members

Liaise regularly with country office accounting staff to review transactions, ensure deadlines are met, and provide guidance on accounting matters

The Successful Applicant: The successful Finance Controller will bring the following background and experience :

• Chartered accountancy designation or equivalent professional qualification
• 5-7 years external audit experience
• Excellent bookkeeping and accounting skills (Swiss GAAP RPC)
• Internal audit experience an advantage
• Advanced Excel
• Fluent written and spoken English and French
