Senior Field Security Officer

Job Description

An international organization based in Geneva is looking for a Senior Field Security Officer to strengthen its global security and duty of care framework in support of international operations and staff travelling in high-risk environments.

This role combines strategic security management, crisis response, travel risk management and operational coordination within a highly international and multicultural environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership and international stakeholders to ensure the implementation of best practices related to staff safety, field security, crisis preparedness and operational resilience.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance field safety and security frameworks aligned with duty of care principles.

• Design and implement security strategies, policies and operational procedures for international missions.

• Advise senior leadership on security risks, crisis management and emergency preparedness.

• Lead and coordinate responses to security incidents and crisis situations.

• Conduct country and regional security risk assessments and provide operational recommendations.

• Deliver security briefings, awareness sessions and training programs for staff and managers.

• Support travel risk management initiatives and promote a strong organizational security culture.

• Collaborate with international organizations and external security partners.

Profile

• Significant experience in international security management, field security or crisis management.

• Background within international organizations, NGOs, development organizations, military, police or security environments.

• Strong experience in risk assessment, emergency response and security operations.

• Ability to interact with senior stakeholders and provide strategic guidance.

• Experience designing policies, procedures and operational security frameworks.

• Strong communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills.

• Fluent in English and French.
