You will join an international tax team, working on cross-border matters alongside experienced professionals.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Senior Tax Manager to join the Europe Tax team based in Zurich. This is an excellent opportunity for a direct tax specialist who enjoys working in an international environment and partnering with senior stakeholders across multiple European countries.

Although this position is initially offered as a maternity cover, there is a strong possibility of extension or a permanent opportunity , depending on future business needs.

Reporting directly to the Head of Tax , you will become part of a close-knit team of five tax professionals and collaborate with colleagues across Global Tax, Finance, Shared Services and external advisors.

Your Responsibilities

• Manage the direct tax position across a portfolio of European countries, including Switzerland
• Lead corporate income tax compliance and tax reporting activities
• Coordinate and manage tax audits while serving as the key contact for tax authorities
• Identify, assess and mitigate tax risks across the region
• Advise Finance, Legal, HR, Supply Chain and Commercial teams on direct tax matters
• Review contracts, transactions and strategic initiatives from a tax perspective
• Coordinate transfer pricing documentation and adjustments together with the Global Transfer Pricing team
• Monitor changes in European tax legislation and assess their business impact
• Work closely with the Global Tax Reporting team, Shared Service Centre and external tax advisors
• Drive process improvements and contribute to tax technology initiatives where appropriate

What We're Looking For

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Law with a specialization in Tax
• Minimum 3 years of direct tax experience within the pharmaceutical, life sciences, manufacturing or Big Four environment
• Strong expertise in corporate income tax, tax reporting and tax compliance
• Solid understanding of accounting for income taxes
• Experience managing tax audits and working with tax authorities
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Fluent English and German (B2 level minimum)

Nice to Have

• CPA, Chartered Tax Advisor or similar professional qualification
• Experience within a multinational life sciences organization
• Shared Services environment experience
• Interest in Tax Technology and process optimisation
• Experience coordinating transfer pricing activities
• Knowledge of an additional European language
