To support its continued development, our client is seeking an experienced Compliance Director to join its Swiss operation.

Job Description

Reporting to the Global Head of Compliance and working closely with the local executive leadership team, the Compliance Director will be responsible for overseeing the compliance framework of the Swiss regulated entity while supporting wider regional compliance initiatives.
This is a stand-alone senior compliance role offering significant autonomy, visibility and exposure to both local and international stakeholders.Key responsibilities include:

• Maintaining and enhancing the firm's compliance framework and control environment.
• Monitoring regulatory developments and ensuring timely implementation of applicable requirements.
• Acting as a primary point of contact with Swiss regulatory authorities and external auditors.
• Providing advice and guidance on regulatory, conduct and compliance matters to senior management and business stakeholders.
• Overseeing AML, KYC and broader financial crime compliance activities.
• Managing compliance monitoring, risk assessments and regulatory reporting processes.
• Supporting audits, regulatory reviews and remediation initiatives.
• Leading and contributing to strategic, regulatory and business transformation projects.
• Collaborating closely with Legal, Risk, Operations, HR and business functions to promote a strong culture of compliance.

The Successful Applicant

• Minimum 10 years of compliance experience within a regulated financial services environment.
• Strong knowledge of Swiss financial market regulation and practical experience interacting with regulatory authorities.
• Experience gained within asset management, wealth management, banking, securities, fintech, wealthtech or other regulated financial institutions.
• Solid expertise across compliance monitoring, governance, AML and KYC frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of a broad compliance remit.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior decision-makers.
• Pragmatic and commercially minded approach while maintaining high regulatory standards.
• Fluent English is required; additional European languages would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on compliance professional who enjoys operating in a lean environment and is equally comfortable managing strategic regulatory matters and day-to-day compliance responsibilities.
