ETF & Index Fund Investment Analyst

Your role

Key tasks will include:
• performing in-depth analysis on products and competitor offerings, do detailed performance attributions on specific indices
• articulating and presenting the findings of the analysis to internal stakeholders clients and audiences at events
• understanding and translating investor needs into methodology enhancements
• enhancing and automating processes involving data and displaying results in reports and presentations

The ETF & Index Fund business which is one of the key growth areas of the company. Index tracking investment solutions have been a core competence of UBS Asset Management for over 30 years. UBS has a long track record of specialising in a quality indexing approach, which has contributed to them being one of the fastest growing index managers globally. Assets under management across index strategies amount to more than USD 1tn and USD 170bn in ETFs (as at Q4 25).

Your team

You will be working in the ETF & Index Fund Investment Analytics team in Zürich. We are a dedicated team of Subject Matter Experts with an open corporate culture that values individual contributions and encourages proactive input and feedback. We work closely with and supports EMEA and APAC sales colleagues and clients on the distinguishing characteristics of our ETFs, explain the unique investment features, and positions the offering against competing exposures. We are responsible for collateral material associated with our ETFs as well as responding to technical questions from clients or internal stakeholders, which involves thorough data analysis and a deep understanding of index methodologies.

Your expertise

• 3-5 years’ experience in asset management or related passive investments fields
• strong interest in ETFs and knowledge of UBS ETF proposal
• Ph.D. / Master’s degree or equivalent, with a focus on mathematics, economics or finance
• ability to use numerical analysis, statistics and financial mathematics to solve practical problems
• proven ability to communicate complex concepts in a simple and effective manner, both in written and oral form (to internal and external audiences)
• passion for financial markets, portfolio construction and creating / enhancing methodologies to suite investor needs
• structured, systematic working style, confidently working autonomously while being diligent and detail-oriented
• strong communicator with a collaborative personality
• experience with high-level programming language and software know-how (e.g. R, , Python, etc.)
• strong command of Microsoft Excel; Bloomberg experience is an advantage
• fluent in English; additional language skills in German, Italian or French would be advantageous
• you’re curious to explore how AI can improve how we build, deliver, and optimize workflows. You do this with sound judgment – validating outputs and aligning with policies, risk standards, and ethical use
• positive attitude and willingness to learn and contribute to a high-performance team.
