Turkish Speaking Underwriter L&H (Hybrid; m/f/x/d; 80-100%)

About the Role

Swiss Re is looking for an ambitious and forward-thinking L&H underwriter to join the Southern European team based in Zurich. In addition to more traditional underwriting activities, such as case assessment, training, and audits, we are seeking someone who can take on a highly client-facing role, supporting our clients both operationally and strategically.

In this position, you will be responsible for the assessment of medical, financial, and special risks for all range of Life and Health covers. You will work closely with clients to provide underwriting expertise, share best practices, and contribute to the development and enhancement of underwriting frameworks and processes.

The role will work together with a wider Southern Europe dedicated cross functional team on product and process innovation, and how Swiss Re can utilise expert underwriting knowledge to achieve a more systematic impact. About the Team

Swiss Re Life and Health (L&H) UW and Claims forms part of the Swiss Re L&H Market Unit function which is responsible for driving growth opportunity and managing the in-force business and the related operations.

As well as being a core element of the wider Continental Europe UW and Claims team, you will work closely with the whole Southern Europe cross functional team to ensure we provide a premium service to our clients in the region.

About You

• You are a native Turkish speaker and have some work experiences in Turkey.
• You demonstrate excellent proficiency in English, other Southern European languages would be advantageous, especially Arabic or Italian.
• You have experience in L&H underwriting or have a medical background such as doctor of medicine, physiotherapist, nurse, etc.
• You have knowledge of L&H product development and/or project management, or have worked in a client facing role in another capacity.
• You are able to translate technical knowledge into clearly articulated commercial proposals including benefits/impacts.
• You are comfortable with technology and innovation.
• You are willing to take accountability for leading and driving tasks & projects, combined with ability to collaborate and support colleagues and the wider team.
• You are willing to travel and support our local partners in the different regions of Southern Europe.
• Beside strong technical underwriting knowledge, you should be comfortable talking to senior level clients, and ideally have experience of marketing (re)insurance services.

For Switzerland, the base salary range for this position is between CHF 96'000 and CHF 144,000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers: ​

• the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
• the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience. ​

In the situation where you do not meet all the requirements or you significantly exceed these, the offered salary may be below or above the advertised range.

In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus. 

Eligibility may vary depending on the terms of Swiss Re policies and your employment contract.
