The Functional Genomics Center Zurich (FGCZ) is a joint state-of-the-art research and training facility of the ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich. With the latest technologies and key expertise for omics research, the FGCZ provides research services and project support to the Zurich life science research community.
Project background
The FGCZ Proteomics Unit supports internal and external research groups by offering services, training, and instrument access. Examples of responsibilities are routine sample preparation methods such as in-gel, on-beads and in-solution digestion, peptide desalting, evaluating and interpreting quality control features during and after data acquisition and basic data analysis workflows
Furthermore, you will be responsible for the maintenance of different LC-MS instrument platforms, and support practical organizational aspects of the proteomics laboratories. Completed professional training as a chemistry or biology laboratory technician or, alternatively, bachelor in analytical chemistry, biology, or in a closely related field
Wet lab experience in biochemistry and/or analytical chemistry
Effective and good written and oral communication skills in English are a must, knowledge of German is helpful
