Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

The Mechanical and Materials Engineering ( EN-MME) group within the Engineering Department (EN) is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to follow-up the construction planning maintenance and upgrade of the FCC-ee arc half-cell mock-up.
It will be used to test aspects related to installation transport safety alignment vibration / stability as well as for outreaching purposes.
You will join the FCC WP11 team which is in charge of the design installation test planning maintenance and upgrade of this mock-up.
Your role will be to support the team with engineering calculations required for the safe operation and upgrade of the mock-up; The other 50% of the time will be reserved to the follow-up and coordination of several in-situ activities for example the planned interventions to maintain / upgrade the mock-up the testing campaigns the visits.
You will participate to the regular project meetings presenting the results of your studies and actively contributing to the advancement of the project.
Proficiency with finite element analysis software for thermal and structural simulations (e.g. Initial experience with 3D CAD software (e.g. CATIA).
Flexibility to adapt to the evolving project priorities.
Spoken and written English with a commitment to learn French.
By the application deadline you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelors or Masters degree .
You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.
Mechanical Engineering
A monthly stipend ranging between 5196 and 5716 Swiss Francs (net of tax) .
