The Role:
We are seeking a Medical Registrar to take on a new challenge in a beautiful coastal location.

You will be working for an innovative and dynamic organisation dedicated to improving the health and well-being of the community, committed to providing the highest levels of healthcare and services. The health service covers a population of approximately 116,000, across two major sites located approximately 50km apart.

$131,000 - $183,500 per annum, pro rata + 11% superannuation + access to salary packaging

The Hospital:
You will be based in a 95-bed facility that offers general and specialist health services including 24-hour emergency department, general medicine day surgery and endoscopy, rehabilitation, palliative care and oncology services along with a variety of specialist clinics.

The hospital has close ties with the University of Tasmania through the Rural Clinical School and with TAFE Tasmania thus providing opportunities for comprehensive clinical training programs.

The Medical Registrar will be responsible for the day-to-day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients including providing after-hours emergency.
You will be responsible for the admission and care of patients in liaison with Specialist Medical Staff.
Registrars will attend specialist ward rounds and record all decisions made in the medical history.
You will provide supervision of Residents, Interns and Medical Students.
These positions are fixed term, full time, shift work, working 76 hours per fortnight to commencing from October 2024 until February 2026.

Requirements
Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) with minimum Level 2 supervision requirements, OR eligibility for registration via the Competent Authority Pathway
