bietet eine PhD-Stelle an, die sich auf die Integration von atomar präzisen Graphen-Nanoribbons (GNRs) in van-der-Waals-Heterostrukturen unter Ultrahochvakuum-Bedingungen konzentriert. GNRs sind aufstrebende Quantenmaterialien, deren elektronische Struktur, Topologie und Spin-Zustände mit atomarer Präzision gestaltet werden können, aber viele reaktive GNRs während herkömmlicher Substrat-Transfer- und Fertigungsprozesse degradieren. Ziel des Projekts ist es, einen vollständig trockenen, UHV-kompatiblen Transferweg zu entwickeln, der diese empfindlichen Quantenzustände während der Geräteintegration bewahrt.Ihre Aufgaben
Der Doktorand wird eine dedizierte UHV-Trocken-Transfer-Plattform in Betrieb nehmen und betreiben sowie Graphen/GNR-Heterostrukturen zusammenbauen, die atomar präzise Nanoribbons mit Graphenelektroden und atomar dünnen Dielektrika kombinieren. Die Arbeit verbindet fortschrittliche Instrumentierung, 2D-Materialassemblierung, Raman-Spektroskopie und Tieftemperatur-STM/STS. Ein zentrales Ziel ist es, zu untersuchen, wie Schnittstellen und elektrostatische Umgebungen die elektronischen und Spin-Eigenschaften der transferierten GNRs beeinflussen, wobei von robusten Armchair-GNRs zu reaktiven Zickzack-kantigen und topologischen Nanoribbons mit korrelierten Quantenzuständen übergegangen wird.
Ihr Profil
Die Stelle eignet sich für hochmotivierte Studierende mit Interesse an experimenteller Festkörperphysik, Nanowissenschaften und Quantenmaterialien. Bewerber sollten einen Masterabschluss in Physik, Materialwissenschaft, Nanowissenschaft oder einem verwandten Fach besitzen. Erfahrung mit UHV-Systemen, optischer Spektroskopie, Rastersondenmikroskopie oder 2D-Materialien ist von Vorteil, aber nicht zwingend erforderlich.
