Das Paul Scherrer Institut PSI ist das grösste Forschungsinstitut für Natur- und Ingenieurwissenschaften in der Schweiz. Die Hochenergiephysik-Gruppe am PSI ist Mitglied der CMS-Kollaboration am CERN LHC mit führenden Beiträgen in der Detektorentwicklung, dem Betrieb und der Datenanalyse. Die Gruppe spielt eine aktive Rolle beim Upgrade des CMS-Detektors für den High-Luminosity LHC und ist verantwortlich für das Design und den Bau des Tracker Extended PiXel TEPX-Systems.
Ihre Aufgaben
In enger Zusammenarbeit mit Wissenschaftlern, Studierenden und Technikern am PSI sowie mit kooperierenden Gruppen werden Sie:
- Eine führende Rolle bei der Montage, Prüfung und Qualifikation von Pixel-Detektormodulen für den CMS TEPX-Detektor übernehmen
- Zur Integration des TEPX-Detektors beitragen
- Servicearbeiten innerhalb der CMS-Kollaboration leisten
- Die Ergebnisse Ihrer Arbeit auf Konferenzen und in Publikationen präsentieren
Ihr Profil
- Sie verfügen über einen Doktortitel in experimenteller Teilchenphysik
- Sie haben nachgewiesene Erfahrung in der Detektorprüfung und -qualifikation sowie starke Softwarekenntnisse
- Erfahrung in der Datenanalyse bei einem Teilchenphysik-Experiment ist von Vorteil
- Sie beherrschen die englische Sprache sehr gut und verfügen über gute Kommunikationsfähigkeiten
- Sie sind motiviert und selbstständig, streben danach, mit neuen Ideen beizutragen, und arbeiten gerne in internationalen Kollaborationen
