Our client is a leading global player in the Pharmaceutical industry with global headquarters in Basel, Switzerland. They are undergoing a transformation with respect to culture and outside perception. The organisation focusses on novel therapies in Oncology and Ophthalmology and is also currently developing a world-leading pipeline in Neuroscience and Dermatology with one of the strongest pipelines of Phase II/III studies in the world. 

For their Basel HQ, we are currently looking for a:

R&D / Technical Development Quality Lead

on a 10-month contract with possibilities of extension afterwards.

In this role, you will drive quality initiatives and lead global medical device projects as part of the GDPD (Global Device and Packaging Development) team. You will act as the Quality Assurance Drug Delivery Systems representative in expert panels, project teams, and quality boards, ensuring compliance, risk management, and high-quality deliverables.

This role is perfect for a strategic leader with a strong background in medical devices, quality assurance, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Main responsibilities:

• Lead and support global GDPD project teams, providing quality oversight and guidance.
• Represent Quality Assurance Drug Delivery Systems in project sub-teams, quality boards, and gate meetings.
• Develop project strategies aligned with Quality Assurance Drug Delivery Systems goals and regulatory requirements.
• Act as Quality Approver for technical documentation, deviations, and quality agreements.
• Support Notified Body inspections and regulatory compliance (e.g., EU MDR, FDA).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Contribute to Quality Management System documentation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Relevant working/residency permit or Swiss/EU-Citizenship required.
• Either a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Pharmacy, Biomedical Engineering) and more than 10 years of experience in pharma/medical device quality or operations, or a master’s degree and more than 5 years of experience.
• Proven track record in medical device development, quality assurance, or quality control.
• Experience with Notified Body inspections and regulatory compliance.
• Leadership experience in interdisciplinary teams.
• Fluent English (oral and written).
• Strong communication and strategic thinking.
• Proficiency in MS Office and document management systems.
