ph3Head of Accounting – Switzerland (m/f/x) /h3 pWe have been exclusively mandated by Amrize to hire their next Head of Accounting. /p h3What this role is about /h3 pA little over a year ago, Amrize became its own company, spun out after more than a century as part of something much bigger. It kept the depth of that history, but had to build its own structure. It's now listed on both the SIX Swiss Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange. /p pThat's where you'd come in. As Head of Accounting, you'd own the accounting for the Corporate Holding structure under Swiss Code of Obligations and US GAAP, and you'd do it together with a small team. /p pThe work itself is broad: statutory accounting and group reporting, budget and Mid-Term Plan ownership, treasury and MA-related accounting, and daily back-and-forth with Tax, Treasury, HR, and Corporate Finance. /p pYou'd report directly to the Chief Accounting Officer based in the US, and work alongside colleagues spanning the Shared Service Center and the US, so you're never solving problems alone. /p pIf you're technically strong across OR and US GAAP, and you still genuinely love the craft of accounting rather than just managing it from a distance, this is a role where that love actually gets used. /p h3What you'll own /h3 h3Accounting Reporting /h3 ul liOversee accounting and reporting for Swiss-based Holding companies, ensuring accuracy and compliance under Swiss Code of Obligations and US GAAP /li liEnsure timely management of general ledgers, sub-ledgers, and bank reconciliations /li liSupport tax calculations, share-based compensation, and share buy-back processes /li liPrepare the consolidated yearly budget and Mid-Term Plan for Swiss-domiciled Holding entities /li liOwn General Ledger accounting for financial holdings, including financing, MA transactions, and investment activities /li liLead, coach, and develop a small team of 2 to 4 accounting professionals /li liSet clear expectations and give the team real responsibility, paired with the tools to deliver on it /li /ul h3Internal Controls Audit Coordination /h3 ul liMaintain and continuously improve internal controls in line with Swiss Code of Obligations and SOX requirements /li liCoordinate external audit processes, including impairment analysis, loan recoverability, and compliance with new accounting standards /li liManage relationships with internal, external, and tax auditors, ensuring smooth and accurate audit processes /li /ul h3Compliance Taxation /h3 ul liManage tax declarations, including local tax reports, Swiss National Bank filings, and VAT reporting /li liCollaborate with HR on executive payroll and pension matters /li liWork closely with shared services to guide accounting practices for Swiss-domiciled companies /li /ul h3Stakeholder Collaboration Process Improvement /h3 ul liCoordinate with Treasury, MA, HR, and other finance functions /li liImplement standard working procedures and contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting systems (SAP S/4) /li liDocument business processes for accounting and reporting across all Swiss-domiciled entities /li /ul h3Strategic Projects Ad-hoc Initiatives /h3 ul liLead ad-hoc projects related to accounting, reporting, and compliance /li liSupport group fee calculation and lead initiatives in financial structure optimization and cash pooling /li /ul h3Why Amrize /h3 ul liMake an impact: take ownership and shape and improve processes in a growing organization /li liInternational environment: work in a highly international setting, collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders across different functions /li liExciting and diverse responsibilities: take on technically challenging and varied accounting topics with direct relevance to the business /li liClose collaboration: work closely with Corporate Accounting, Controlling, Tax, Internal Controls, and other key business stakeholders /li liBuild and improve: join an organization undergoing significant transformation, where you can help build efficient and sustainable processes /li /ul h3What you bring /h3 h3Must Have /h3 ul liSwiss Certified Public Accountant (CPA), MBA, or a similar formal qualification /li liStrong, hands-on technical ability across both Swiss Code of Obligations and US GAAP, able to operate confidently in both /li liSeveral years of accounting experience, including several years in a headquarters environment /li liExtensive General Ledger accounting experience for financial holdings, including financing, MA transactions, and investment activities /li liProficiency in SAP S/4, MS Office, and Tagetik /li liDemonstrated leadership and team development experience, with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional, international teams /li liNative/fluent German and fluent English /li liWillingness to travel as required to support finance and business operations /li /ul h3As a Person /h3 pYou're proud to be an accountant.
