Within this context, we are looking for an Economist/Strategist in Geneva:Mission:The macro research team is responsible for building and continuously updating a comprehensive macroeconomic scenario for the global economy. The objectives include understanding economic trends through fundamental data-driven analysis, assessing and quantifying the impact of new developments including important fiscal and monetary policies, and producing a set of macroeconomic forecasts that inform the bank’s investment process.Clear communication of the house views to clients is a key part of the team’s mission. The macro team performs a central function in the bank’s operation by producing a key input for taking investment decisions and being responsible for communicating and explaining the global scenario internally and externally.Desired Profile:Graduate degree in economics or related field and work experience in research or strategy roles within a financial institution, central bank, or related roleStrong communication skills, ability to write research publications, and deliver presentations to a variety of difference audiencesAbility to work with large data sets, develop and maintain databases, build or update macroeconomic models, visualize economic data and make use of financial software such as Bloomberg or DatastreamFamiliarity with banking or asset management industry and an interest in financial markets. CFA or similar qualificationProgramming skills and familiarity with data management software (such as Python Matlab or R)Some background (or a keen interest in) Emerging Markets is a plusFluency in English is required, and other languages (especially French) desiredIf you recognise yourself in this description, then please do apply.
