Quant DevOps Engineer

ppThe bQuant DevOps Engineer /b owns and operates the application engineering platform, cloud infrastructure, and data execution environment that application and modeling workloads depend on. /p pThe role is accountable for the end‑to‑end reliability, scalability, security, performance, and cost efficiency of the platform, supporting large‑scale, data‑intensive and compute‑heavy workloads such as parallel Databricks clusters and high‑memory systems. /p pThis position requires broad and deep technical expertise, strong operational judgment, and the ability to act as a central technical interface between engineering teams, IT operations, security/SecOps, and data users. It is a senior ownership role with significant impact on delivery speed, platform stability, and infrastructure cost. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 pbPlatform Infrastructure Ownership /b /p ul liEnd-to-end ownership and delivery accountability for the application execution platform and production model runs (Databricks, Servers). /li liDay-to-day operational responsibility: availability, incident handling, runtime management, and delivery continuity for business-critical runs (incl. peak periods like YE). /li liManage Azure cloud infrastructure, including:ul liVirtual machines, storage, identity and access management (RBAC) /li liNetworking components such as firewalls, peering, and cross‑subscription connectivity /li /ul /li liLead standardization with central teams across observability, security controls, platform services, and “golden paths,” while keeping delivery running /li liEnsure platform reliability, scalability, and long‑term sustainability /li /ul pbCI/CD Automation /b /p ul liDesign, maintain, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and related tooling /li liBuild and evolve automation using scripting and build tools /li liOptimize pipeline performance, reliability, and parallel execution to support large‑scale workloads /li /ul pbContainer Runtime Management /b /p ul liOwn Docker image creation, lifecycle management, and governance /li liOptimize build processes, caching strategies, and container security /li liSupport containerized execution environments for compute‑heavy workloads and services /li /ul pbInfrastructure as Code Configuration Management /b /p ul liMaintain and evolve Infrastructure as Code using Terraform /li liOperate and improve configuration management systems (e.g. SaltStack) /li liReduce configuration drift and improve reproducibility across environments /li /ul pbObservability, Security Secrets /b /p ul liOwn and operate observability platforms (e.g. ELK, Prometheus, Grafana) /li liEnsure meaningful metrics, logs, dashboards, and alerting are in place /li liManage secrets and platform security tooling (e.g. Wiz, Snyk) /li liCollaborate closely with Security and SecOps teams on controls, findings, and improvements /li /ul pbData Platform Capacity Planning /b /p ul liConfigure/support Databricks usage for application workloads; manage workspace‑level configuration/permissions as delegated; partner with central Databricks lead for global administration and optimization. /li liSupport large‑scale data and compute workloads /li liLead capacity planning for:ul liHighly parallel Databricks clusters (e.g. up to ~10 × 80‑node clusters) /li liMemory‑intensive systems (multi‑terabyte RAM) /li liData pipelines producing terabytes of data /li /ul /li liBalance performance, reliability, and cost across platform decisions /li /ul pbOperations Incident Response /b /p ul liAct as senior escalation point for platform and infrastructure incidents /li liParticipate in a limited on‑call rotation /li liInvestigate incidents and execute or coordinate remediation /li liPerform manual interventions when automation is insufficient /li liDrive post‑incident reviews and platform improvements /li /ul pbCross‑Team Organizational Coordination /b /p ul liServe as primary technical contact for:ul liIT Operations /li liSecurity and SecOps /li liArchitecture and governance bodies /li liService management processes /li /ul /li liCoordinate platform‑related work across teams /li liSupport customer‑facing technical discussions related to platform capabilities and constraints /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 pbExperience /b /p ul liBackground in bInsurance, Finance, or Scientific / High‑Performance Computing environments /b /li liStrong experience in bplatform or DevOps engineering /b within production environments /li liSolid expertise in bcloud infrastructure /b, preferably Microsoft Azure /li liHands‑on experience with bCI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and container platforms /b /li liProven experience operating bdata‑intensive and compute‑heavy systems /b /li liStrong troubleshooting and operational mindset /li liAbility to manage and balance competing constraints:ul liCost /li liPerformance /li liSecurity /li liReliability /li /ul /li liDeep understanding of platform stability, scalability, and automation /li liSenior‑level autonomy and decision‑making capability /li liOwnership mindset; accountable for outcomes rather than tasks /li liAbility to operate as a trusted senior technical interface across teams /li /ul pSCOR supports inclusion and the diversity of talents, and all positions are open to people with disabilities. /p /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
