Help Watch - 3rd officer

Your PurposeAn exciting opportunity exists for a world class 3rd Officer to join our newly created luxury travel brand “Explora Journeys”. The 3rd Officer is required to relief 2nd Officer, to perform Bridge Whatch/Keeping and responsible for daily maintenance and operations of the vessel.Your Impact Assistant Bridge Watch Keeper as required by the BRM Procedures

 Responsible to the OOW for the monitoring of the voyage plan according to the V.P.Procedures.

 Ensure that the Company’s Safety and Environmental policies are duly applied.

 Assist the Safety Officer during Inspections and Maintenance on Life savings (lifeboats/Mes, Davits and cranes) and Fire Fighting Equipment/Systems.

 Familiarize with the use of ECDIS and ENC and all Publications are corrected and updated as required under the supervision of the OOW

 Familiarize with the Ship’s Stability Calculation , under the supervision of the O.O.W., including fresh water and ballast management control plan. (See Stability Procedures).

 Ensuring that he/she is familiar with the use of the ship's stability calculation computer program (onboard NAPA).

 Assist for tanks inspection, Maintenance and Record keeping (FW-BW-GW) as directed by the Bridge Manager/Staff captain

 Assist for the upkeep of the ship’s certificates as directed by staff captain

 Assist Training officer for the upkeep of the Deck and Engine officer Certifications as directed by the OOW.

 Assist the Safety Officer in the conduct of crew Safety Drills, when needed.

 Assist the OOW and Safety Officer in updating the PMS Safety when needed.

 Verify compliance Certifications of watchkeepers upon join the vessel (STCW)

 Check and monitor the SMS for the Deck department as directed by the Staff Captain.

 Gyro error to be calculated daily and if not to be recorded on ELog

 Draft and water density to be checked every time the ship is in port as feasible.
