As a Data Scientist, you will turn data, domain knowledge, and advanced AI methods into scalable, measurable, and trustworthy capabilities for SI Buildings Product (SI B PRO). This is a high-impact role for a hands-on AI and data professional who wants to work at the center of a new team shaping how Generative AI, machine learning, and data-driven decision-making are applied across product development. 

In this role, you will contribute to design, prototype, validate, and operationalize AI-enabled solutions across software and firmware development lifecycles. You will bring strong analytical, statistical, and machine learning expertise to transform complex engineering data into insights, models, evaluation frameworks, and reusable data products. Working at the intersection of data science, AI engineering and product development, you will help ensure that AI initiatives are not only innovative, but also robust, explainable, valuable for engineering teams, secure and compliant.

Your new responsibilities

• Design, develop, and validate machine learning, Generative AI, and advanced analytics solutions that support product development, engineering productivity, quality improvement, cybersecurity, and decision-making across our SDLC
• Support the development of AI-assisted and agentic capabilities across requirements engineering, architecture analysis, coding, testing, security, vulnerability management, release readiness, and lifecycle management by applying data science methods to real engineering workflows
• Build prototypes, proof-of-concepts, and evaluation pipelines for LLM-based applications, RAG solutions, agentic workflows, classification models, prediction models, and AI-assisted engineering use cases, ensuring that feasibility, quality, and measurable value are assessed early and continuously
• Identify, acquire, clean, structure, and enrich data from engineering toolchains, repositories, documentation, requirements, test systems, vulnerability sources, and enterprise platforms to make it usable for AI and analytics solutions
• Define and implement evaluation approaches, performance metrics, validation methods, monitoring concepts, and quality criteria for AI models and GenAI applications, with attention to explainability, robustness, bias, privacy, security, and responsible AI principles
• Create reusable datasets, embeddings, feature stores, notebooks, pipelines, model evaluation assets, and documentation that enable scalable adoption and repeatable delivery of AI capabilities across teams and use cases
• Explore emerging AI, machine learning, data science, and GenAI techniques, frameworks, and tools, and assess their applicability for SI B PRO use cases in collaboration with the AI Core team and engineering stakeholders

Your talents and experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field
• Several years of hands-on experience in data science, machine learning, AI engineering, applied analytics, or related technical roles, ideally in engineering or industrial technology environments
• Good understanding of data engineering foundations, including data pipelines, APIs, databases, versioning, data quality, metadata, and reproducible experimentation
• Strong practical experience with programming languages and common data science and machine learning ecosystems, including data processing, model development, experimentation, evaluation, and visualization
• Understanding of software and firmware development lifecycles, DevSecOps practices, cybersecurity considerations, and how AI can support engineering workflows in a secure and scalable way
• Hands-on exposure to Generative AI solutions, including LLM-based applications, prompt engineering, embeddings, retrieval-augmented generation, evaluation of GenAI outputs, and ideally agentic AI workflows and experience with machine learning methods
• Ability to work with complex and heterogeneous engineering data, such as requirements, source code metadata, test results, logs, documentation, vulnerability information, and lifecycle artifacts
• Awareness of AI governance, privacy, responsible AI, model risk, explainability, and regulatory expectations relevant to enterprise AI adoption
• Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain data science concepts to architects, product owners, engineers, cybersecurity experts, and business stakeholders
• Fluent in English
