Baristas/Tea Sommelier

Your Purpose

The primary responsibility of the Barista is to provide quality and luxurious service to the guests that consistently and effectively reflects the luxurious nature of the company.

Your Impact

• Ensure guest satisfaction by delivering quality beverage experience.

• Possess full knowledge of standard coffees, garnishes and presentations.

• Prepare beverages according to guest preferences and in line with company policy and procedures.

• Possess knowledge on maintenance and deep cleaning procedures of the espresso machine.

• Ensure that personnel assigned to work in the coffee lounge are well trained to ensure good stock control.

• Supervise the coffee lounge bar personnel.

• Monitor inventories and equipment for shortages and damages.

• Keeping self-aware of targets, costs and monitoring procedures.

• Possess job and product knowledge, including knowledge of cocktail recipes, wine lists and bar set-ups.

• Possess full knowledge of current Public Health rules and regulations and always maintain standards.

• Correctly apply the food safety procedures and food quality requirements related to all processes.

• Be aware of all events and activities on the ship and be able to communicate to the guests.

• Ensure compliance with the company alcohol policy.

Your Journey So Far

• Previous experience in a similar position in an International Cruise Company, or in a 5-star hotel/resort with an international bar list.

• Basic knowledge on food safety.

• Communicate effectively with the senior management.

• Possess ability to lead and make decisions.

• Experienced in coaching subordinates.

• Must be cost and quality conscious.

• Adhere to specific scheduled work hours yet be flexible if circumstances require it.

• Experience and/or training in the hospitality field.

• Fluent in written and spoken English. Any additional European language is considered an advantage.

Your Essentials

• Passport, visas, certificates as specified by the company and as required for exit from the port of origin and entry into the destination cruising area.

• Food Safety/HACCP certificate.
