JOB DESCRIPTION

As part of the expansion of our activities in French-speaking Switzerland , we are looking for a Mechanical Designer Technician / CAD Designer (M/F).

You will join an international R&D environment involved in the development and lifecycle management of innovative medical technologies.

Working closely with Mechanical Engineers and multidisciplinary R&D teams, you will be responsible for the creation, modification and maintenance of mechanical designs and technical documentation , supporting both new product development and existing product improvements.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Create and update 3D CAD models and detailed 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.

• Design and document mechanical parts and assemblies, including plastic and machined components.

• Create and maintain assembly, cable, packaging and labeling drawings when required.

• Apply GD&T / GPS principles , dimensional tolerances and tolerance stack-up analyses.

• Update existing designs as part of product improvements and sustaining engineering activities .

• Implement approved Engineering Changes (ECOs) by updating CAD models, drawings, Bills of Materials and associated documentation.

• Create and maintain product data and technical documentation within the PDM/PLM system .

• Work closely with Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and other R&D functions to ensure drawings and designs are accurate, manufacturable and compliant with internal requirements.

• Participate in design reviews and support the resolution of mechanical and documentation-related issues.

YOUR PROFILE

You have a technical education in Mechanical Design, Industrial Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field .

Applications are welcome from candidates with a 2- or 3-year post-secondary technical qualification (Bac+2 / Bac+3 or equivalent) as well as candidates with an engineering degree.

More than the level of degree, we are looking for strong practical experience in mechanical design and technical drawing .

Required experience

• Previous professional experience in Mechanical Design / CAD Design , ideally 3+ years .

• Strong hands-on experience with SolidWorks .

• Ability to create accurate and production-ready 2D manufacturing drawings .

• Good understanding of GD&T / GPS and dimensional tolerancing .

• Experience working with mechanical parts and assemblies.

• Experience updating existing designs and associated technical documentation.

• Familiarity with BOMs and PDM/PLM environments .

Experience in Medical Devices or another regulated industry is appreciated but not mandatory .
