Senior Scientist Analytical Services

The Position

The Sr. Scientist Analytical Services position focuses on the timely development and optimization of analytical methods, with a strong emphasis on separation techniques by U(H)PLC and Mass Spectrometry (MS) , to support the characterization of biologics and deliver high-quality results across a range of customer projects.

In this role, you will collaborate with colleagues within the Analytical Services and across the multi-cultural teams of Celonic, contributing to the development of robust analytical strategies. You will play a key role in executing routine activities as well as in solving complex technical challenges. You will also provide coaching and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment

Your Responsibilities

• Execute and lead analytical activities within the core expertise areas (U(H)PLC, MS, including data evaluation, interpretation, review, and reporting.
• Design, develop, and optimize analytical methods with GMP readiness in mind, while maintaining agility in a fast-paced development environment.
• Review and author analytical documentation to ensure high scientific quality and compliance.
• Provide organizational support through analysis planning, raw data review, prioritization, and coordination of departmental activities.
• Ensure analytical work is delivered with the highest quality, customer focus, and within expected timelines.
• Support method transfer, validation, and handover activities to GMP Quality Control.
• Coach and train colleagues, sharing expertise and contributing to the continuous development of the team.
• Demonstrate strong ownership, proactive leadership, and scientific judgment by driving solutions, delivering results, and elevating method performance.

Job Requirements

• Master’s degree in engineering / life sciences related field. (PhD preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in Biotechnology or Pharma industry experience, ideally CDMO setting with a focus on analytical development.
• Proven technical expertise in U(H)PLC and MS, including method development, data interpretation and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of analytical method lifecycle management and method transfer, desirable including GMP readiness and validation principles.
• Demonstrated experience in reviewing and authoring high-quality analytical documentation.
• Strong scientific thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to make sound decisions in a dynamic development environment.
• High level of ownership, accountability, and proactive leadership; consistently drives initiatives and delivers results.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; fluent in English and German.
