AI Product Owner

We are looking for an AI Product Owner who thrives at the intersection of AI, product, and business. In this role, you will combine hands-on AI engineering expertise with software product and delivery leadership, building scalable AI solutions that create measurable business impact across underwriting, claims and operations.

You’ll be part of our Property & Casualty AI Transformation team, whose mission is to harness advanced analytics and AI to create a competitive advantage for our business. We work closely with business stakeholders in underwriting, claims and operations and Data & Tech teams to design, deliver, and scale AI solutions that enhance decision-making, improve productivity, and drive better outcomes across the organization.

About the Role

As an AI Product Owner, you will:

• Own the delivery of AI products, from concept to deployment and integration into user applications.
• Act as a stakeholder partner, aligning product roadmaps and delivery with business strategic objectives and technology landscapes to harness the power of AI in our underwriting, claims and operations processes.
• Build scalable data pipelines and AI applications, ensuring robustness, performance, and enterprise-grade quality.
• Lead cross-functional delivery, working closely with AI engineers, data scientists, software engineers and business experts to bring AI solutions into production.
• Help shape the standards and best practices for GenAI implementation, AI product governance, and responsible AI use across the company.
• Stay at the forefront of emerging AI technologies and methodologies, evaluating their practical business application.

Key responsibilities

• Drive and shape AI products from business problem and value hypothesis through production and scale.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to understand and translate underwriting, claims or operations business requirements into clear product requirements and actionable delivery plans.
• Design and develop user-centric AI applications in Python/PySpark, that align with business and technological requirements, emphasizing user experience & data storytelling.
• Build and manage product roadmaps, priorities and backlogs, balancing business value, user needs, technical feasibility and strategic objectives.
• Define success measures and use data, user feedback and business outcomes to continuously improve AI products.
• Manage stakeholder relationships and create alignment across business, Digital &Tech stakeholders and governance functions.
• Ensure AI solutions meet appropriate standards for quality, scalability, security and responsible AI
• Continuously evaluate emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities to apply them to real business challenges.

About you

To be successful in the role, you bring:

• A university degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related Quantitative or technical field.
• 5+ years’ experience designing and delivering enterprise-grade AI/GenAI or data-driven products.
• Hands-on experience with GenAI solution implementation, understanding strength and limitations of models, and AI models from training and testing to deployment in production.
• Strong proficiency in Python/PySpark and software development best practices.
• Expertise in data pipelines and MLOps practices at scale.
• Strong product thinking and the ability to connect business problems, user needs and technology.
• Proven ability to manage senior stakeholders and lead delivery across business and tech teams.
• Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to make complex technical topics understandable and relevant to business audiences.

If you also have the following experience and interests, it is a huge plus:

• Knowledge of Azure, Palantir Foundry and Typescript.
• Building applications using LLMs, RAG, agents or other modern GenAI patterns.
• Project management or delivery within agile environments.
• Experience working in a multinational or cross-cultural environment.

For Switzerland, the base salary  range for this position is between CHF 128,000 and CHF 192,000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:

·the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,

·the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
