Assoc. Dir, DSCS Digital Technologies, Decision Intelligence (m/f/d)

Associate Director role within Merck's DSCS Digital Technologies organization, focused on developing advanced analytics and operations research capabilities to enable data-driven decision-making. The position involves translating business problems into mathematical models, designing analytics solutions, and implementing AI-enabled processes across pharmaceutical development and supply chain operations.
Responsibilities
- Translate business problems into mathematical models and simulation frameworks for optimization
- Design robust analytics integrated with web applications and AI agents for streamlined user interaction
- Develop probabilistic forecasting and stochastic optimization techniques for strategic decision-making
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop business cases and define KPIs for digital transformation initiatives
- Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines using Databricks, Python, and SQL
Requirements
- 5+ years in data science, operations research, data engineering, or related technical role
- Strong Python expertise and experience building, deploying advanced machine learning models
- Pharmaceutical development and/or clinical supply chain experience preferred
- Proven track record translating complex stakeholder requirements into technical roadmaps
- GitHub version control experience and comfort with AI-assisted development tools
- Databricks, MLOps, and agentic AI experience preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to develop mathematical frameworks
